Why catalogue prices can mislead powder filling projects
A low quoted price may not include the equipment needed to run the product reliably. For example, a powder may need agitation, a different screw, dust control, product feeding or downstream sealing equipment.
The best route is to request a specification-led quote. This allows the supplier to understand the product, dose, pack, output target and line requirements before recommending a machine.
| Specification detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Automation level | Manual, semi-automatic and automatic lines have different operator and equipment requirements. |
| Filling technology | Auger filling, weighing and VFFS packing each suit different applications. |
| Line additions | Feeders, conveyors, sealers, cappers, labellers and coders affect total project cost. |
| Testing and support | Product testing, installation, commissioning and training should be considered where relevant. |
