Contract packing machine selection
A contract packer may not know every future product, so the machine should be specified for a practical operating window rather than one narrow use case. Flexibility must be balanced with accuracy and throughput.
For varied powders, it may be sensible to compare tabletop, automatic auger, weigh filling and pouch or VFFS options. The correct route depends on customer mix, common pack formats and expected batch sizes.
| Specification detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Product range | Spices, powders, granules and blends may need different dosing approaches. |
| Batch changeover | Cleaning, screw changes and setup time directly affect profitability. |
| Pack variety | The more pack formats required, the more important line flexibility becomes. |
| Scalability | A staged route can allow capacity growth without buying the wrong first machine. |
